The following is the text of a lecture delivered in Amicable Lodge which has been very slightly edited in order to maintain the integrity of the tyled lodge.


First, the usual disclaimers. What I present here is what I have found to be true -- for now, at least. I am a firm believer that truth is a thing that we strive towards but not a destination at which we are terribly likely to arrive.
